The Behenna Dilemma · Part III:
Following the mysterious disappearance of Courtney Wells, Democrat nominee for Oklahoma County District Attorney, Vicki Behenna, filed a motion for her client Chris Mayes’s conviction to be overturned. The motion contained ‘new evidence’ in the form of emails allegedly sent by Wells confessing to the crime in its entirety.
As previously reported, the response by the US Attorney was nothing short of scathing. The evidence submitted was clearly a fabrication and the ‘expert witness’ provided was not qualified to validate it.
Given that their cell phone’s location data stopped transmitting 24 hours before the emails were sent and since Wells and her boyfriend went missing, it was easy to surmise that they could have been killed. Well, it seems that is not the case.
Yesterday, Wells and her boyfriend were picked up by Mexican law enforcement according to a new filing made today. Even more interesting is that they are talking.
They are confessing that Chris Mayes had arranged for them to go on the lamb to Mexico and that he would later join them. Additionally, Mayes allegedly purchased a gun from Landers before they left.
It appears that with the only witness that could refute the new evidence back in the picture, we may be getting an answer to the question, “What did Vicki Behenna know and when did she know it?”
More to follow as this story develops, as it appears Behenna’s client, Chris Mayes, is now in Logan County’s custody.
